Welcome to Kraamzorg Believe, care that understands you

At Kraamzorg Believe, we believe that the start of a new life deserves the very best care, whatever your background, the culture you bring or the language you speak. Our agency grew out of a wish to make maternity care more human and more inclusive. We bridge language barriers and cultural differences, so that you can recover in peace and fully enjoy your maternity week.

Where it began

Aicha Bouguetof

Our driving force is Aicha Bouguetof: proud mother, maternity nurse, and founder and director of our agency since 2010. She is also a work supervisor, a Dunstan Baby Language specialist and speaker, and is trained in emergency obstetrics and trauma processing. Aicha speaks Arabic, Dutch, English and French. From her own experience as a mother, Aicha knows how vulnerable and special the early phase with a baby is. For years she has fought for a sector in which no family is excluded or put at a disadvantage. Her personal vision still shapes how our team works: we offer a safe, warm and loving environment in which you feel heard and understood.

Aicha spoke on Omroep ZWART about equal opportunities in maternity care, and about what happens when a family does not speak the language well. That clip is shown below.

Under Aicha's leadership, a certified and skilled team is now ready to combine medical expertise with a warm, listening ear. We believe in inclusive care and are open to every family. We offer support in one of the languages our team speaks, so that communication feels familiar from the very first moment. With deep respect for your family traditions, customs and particular wishes around the birth, we make sure you get off to a good start. Together we create a maternity period in which your culture and your family come first.

In the documentary

Is there selection by language in maternity care?

Omroep ZWART made the series Ongelijke Behandeling (Unequal Treatment), about inequality in healthcare. In it, Aicha spoke about families who do not speak Dutch well, and about what then happens to their registration.

“No, unfortunately a selection is made.”

Aicha, in Ongelijke Behandeling

Believe began in order to do things differently. The language you speak at home does not count in how we assess a registration.

Our mission and vision

Warmth, explanation and trust for every family

Our mission is to fill every maternity period with personal care, comfort and attention. We support the mother's recovery, the care of the baby and the new daily routine at home.

Our vision is that care only truly works when you understand what is happening. That is why we take different backgrounds into account, coordinate carefully with the care providers involved, and take the time to explain something once more.

We can do this together
